Datong plc (the 'Company') announces that it was notified on 11 August 2009 that Paul Lever, Chairman of the Company, had acquired 10,000 ordinary shares of 0.5 pence each in the Company at 36pence per share on 10 August 2009.


Following this acquisition, Mr Lever holds 81,750 ordinary shares in the Company, representing 0.59% of the Company's shares in issue.
