Datong PLC - Appointment of President for US Subsidiary

DATONG PLC (DTE.L), the designer and manufacturer of advanced high performance intelligence
gathering equipment, is pleased to announce that Louis Quijas has been appointed as President
of the Company's US subsidiary, Datong Electronics Inc., with effect from 4 August 2008.
He will be responsible for increasing DATONG's US presence and to drive through growth from
the federal and state markets. Furthermore, his role will include the expansion of the
Company's customer base into the South American markets.
Louis, a former police officer for 25 years and Chief of Police for six years, was the Federal
Bureau of Investigation's Assistant Director heading the Office of Law Enforcement Coordination
in Washington, D.C. He is a recognised leader in the security sector having established the
FBI's program for strategic co-ordination with law enforcement partners following the 9/11/01
terrorist attacks. He has been an elected member of a number of major law enforcement boards
including the International Association of Police Chiefs (ICAP) and the FBI's Criminal Justice
Information Services (CJIS) on information technology systems.
